The famous American car has officially introduced its latest supercar, called Venom F5.
With the desire to turn Venom F5 into the fastest car in the world, Hennessey spent nearly five years developing the engine for this supercar.
The primary principle of Hennessey Venom F5 is to defeat the record speed limit.
The ambition of Hennessey
Since its inception in 1991, the name of the Hennessey supercar has been attached to the super-powerful American muscle car, bringing the same power to supercar from Europe or even more. Especially the price for these models is many times lower. The hottest sports car company Hennessey has always wanted to create a high-performance supercar that beat two famous car models Bugatti Chiron and Koenigsegg Regera, and they have a "perfect weapon" to do that, the supermodel Hennessey Venom F5 with superfast speed.
Hennessey names after the Venom F5 on the storm level gauge Fujita Scale, in which F5 is the wind level of the strongest superstorm with speed up to 415 to 512 km/h.
Hennessy's new Venom F5 supercar was announced at SEMA last year; the hypercar was on display at the Geneva Motor Show 2018, marking its first debut in the European market. Specifically, it was performed in Switzerland from 06 to 18 March at the end of the event.
So what's special about Hennessey Venom F5?
An excellent engine
Surprisingly, the "Hypercar" Venom F5 of American company may be ready to surpass the "new speedy king" Bugatti Chiron when the capacity reaches 1,600 horsepower and the maximum speed up to 482 km/h.Hennessey has kept the promise of launching the fastest street car in the world. To do this, the Hennessey Venom F5 is equipped with the twin-turbo V8 engine, the capacity up to 7,4 litter producing incredible power of 1,600 horsepower and 1,300 lb-ft of torque, which help it to reach the maximum speed of 301 miles (482 km)/hour.
"We think the Venom F5's engine detail is enough to surprise the fans. Engine power has been verified by Shell and Pennzoil. We are confident this engine will set a new record in 2019, "said John Hennessey, founder and owner of Hennessey Performance Engineering.
This engine incorporates a 7-speed rear-wheel drive that allows the Venom F5 to accelerate from 0 to 300 km/h in less than 10 seconds and run from 0 to 400km/h in less than 30 seconds.
With this impressive figure, Venom F5 has "surpassed" 0-400 km/h performance in 42 seconds Bugatti Chiron or 36 seconds of Koenigsegg Agera RS.
Maximum torque is 1,762 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Hennessey confirms that it is a Billet aluminium engine block, steel cylinder liner pipe, steel ball with dual turbo, stainless steel turbo head and dry sump oiling system.
With the Shell and Pennzoil help, Hennessey took five years to complete the engine block for Venom F5. Hennessey promises the breakthrough design of this supercar can achieve higher performance thanks to improved aerodynamic technology.
The Hennessey Car brand optimises aerodynamic properties to achieve the lowest drag possible. The aerodynamic drag coefficient of Venom F5 is 0.33.
Venom F5 will only use Pennzoil Platinum 10W-60 Full Synthetic engine oil and Shell V-Power Nitro + Premium gasoline to operate.
"Being collaborated and working with Hennessey on the fastest car model development project in the world, we have learned a lot of valuable experience," said Shell's vice president Patty Lanning.
"We share information and work together to optimise the performance of our products. With Pennzoil - a subsidiary of Shell Oil Corporation, we believe that the Venom F5 will be fully cared for and protected from the testing process until officially commercialised. "
Car design
To fulfil the purpose and aspiration, Hennessey's design engineers have used an entirely new model. What makes the Venom F5 faster than any Formula 1 racing car is the fact that the body and frame are made of lightweight carbon fibre material. It helps to reduce the weight of the vehicle to only 2.950 pounds, (equivalent to 1.338 kg), and increase the acceleration of the car.
Venom F5 uses the Michelin Pilot Sports tire, size 265 / 35ZR19 in the front wheel and 345 / 30ZR20 in the rear wheel. Disc brakes system is made of carbon ceramic and has a high performance.
What is the cost to own the fastest car in the world?
According to the published information, the product is only produced 24 limited editions, which will ensure the unique and spiritual value for the owner. Estimates, this car will have a starting price of about $ 36 billion ($ 1.6 million). And customers will possess the new first cars in 2019.We still need to verify,
In general, the Hennessey parameters are somewhat ostentatious and need to be checked for authentication. In particular, achieving less than 30 seconds to complete a 0-400-0km/h test, the Venom F5 not only outperformed Chiron (42 seconds) but also six seconds faster than the best car in the world, the Koenigsegg Agera RS.
Now, Hennessey does not say much about F5's engine design, but John Hennessey, the company's founder and CEO, said they felt confident about setting a new record the year 2019 with Venom F5.
Also, he said 15 of the 24 F5s produced were owned. Let's wait and see if Hennessey Venom F5 can achieve the performance goals set or not!
