Launched at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Prius 2019 is expected to improve poor sales in the past of this model in the US.
Toyota has officially unveiled the all-new Prius 2019 at the Los Angeles auto show in 2018. This is considered an attempt to improve the declining sales of this hybrid hatchback in the US market.
Launched by one of the world top brands, 2019 Toyota Prius proves its super high-class-range with the high price. But such price somehow represents its value well. The car can increase speed from zero to 60mph in only 4.6 seconds and reach 186 plus miles per hour. This is the reason why many speed lovers have dreams of it.
In the 2019 version, the most significant change comes from the dynamics system, when the four-wheel drive system (AWD-e) was first equipped on the Prius distribution in the US. Earlier, the Japanese automaker only provided this drive on Prius in its home market.
With the improved yielding, a stiffer shaft, and the crispy handling combined with heavy tubing, Toyota Prius rider has the ability to resist and reduce damage to the lowest level in crash situations. In addition, it is equipped with the superior quality brake and strong engine.
The Prius 2019 is equipped with a second electric motor in the rear, which is responsible for supporting the front motor when needed. This engine is capable of powering the rear wheels operating independently at speeds up to 69 km / h. Combined with two electric motors, the 1.8-liter 4-cylinder 4ZR-FXE petrol engine comes in line with the CVT gearbox.
Prius 2019 uses a new NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) battery designed to achieve good performance even in cold weather conditions, suitable for customers in snowy areas. This battery pack is neatly arranged under the rear seats, so it does not affect the storage space of the car (volume of 1,854 liters).
As 100% custom exclusive car manufacture, Toyota engineers designed Prius with a special driving position. The muscle and unique appearance are harmonious with the powerful machine. The car needs a few seconds to accelerate from zero to 60mph and its horsepower reaches a high figure.
Toyota says the Prius AWD-e will be one of the least-fueled four-wheel drive cars in the US. Specifically, the vehicle has a fuel consumption of 4.5 l / 100 km for the inner city, 4.9 l / 100 km for the highway and 4.7 l / 100 km for the combined cycle. With the new drive system, Toyota estimates the AWD-e model will account for about 25% of Prius sales in the future.
Its sleek interior is made of finest materials. With durable steering wheel, its interior is compact and lacks ergonomic sense. The aerodynamic design allows you to experience the thrill of the road with the convertible top down.
In addition to changes in the drivetrain, the Prius 2019 is also slightly refined in appearance with redesigned headlights, taillights, and front bumper. The interior has a 4.2-inch multi-information display, and SofTex leather seats integrate heating for the front seats. Also, the Prius 2019 has two new color options, Supersonic Red and Electric Storm Blue.
The car is equipped with Safety Sense P safety package standard, including a series of advanced steering aids such as a pre-collision warning system that automatically brakes when meeting pedestrians are crossing the road, controlling lanes, automatic height adjustment and full-speed active cruise control.
However, its price clearly becomes the obstacle which made this car not be an option for everybody.
